A few tips so your photo doesn't get bounced back
Shoot in soft, even light so there are no harsh shadows across the face, look directly at the lens with a relaxed, neutral expression, and try to fill roughly 70–80% of the frame with the head. If you wear glasses that catch glare, take them off for the shot.
